but don't make me your enemy
( from here. )
[ Adar is left alone for a night. Sauron finds him in the obsidian hallways of the palace, the parts he is allowed to frequent as a captain, standing at the end of a corridor when Adar turns. His robes are dark, simmering with a soft burn at the ends of his robes, and his eyes are the only light of any worth, fixed on his uruk. ]

I do love you. [Even when he shouldn't, even though he plainly knows better than to and it is written in those gentle green eyes even now if Sauron glanced at them. Even though he is sure the sweet kindness he was given tonight will be taken back if not soon then eventually. Sauron liked him how he was before most of all and not this elven memory whose only tell that he was still changed was the colour of his blood.]

[ He sees those green eyes well enough, his own almost dark with his inner fire depleted. Brushing up and down Adar's side, he never looks away from him and gives that attention he knows is craved. ]
You are always safe by my side.
[ From any lesser evils, at least. ]

His soul was so bound to Sauron that he didn't think he could ever love another this way. The imprint of maia hands was on his heart, all over his body even now with his flesh as smooth as silkstone.]
I know.
[As long as he behaves, as long as his master is happy, as long as nothing he talks back to him with is shared in company or too sharp or too true. As long as Sauron doesn't crave the sounds he makes when hurt, again, or have another idea on how to improve him.]

Instead of returning permanently to the lower castes to do your duty, would you like to stay here every other night?

I always wish to be near you. [That was true, almost too much so.] Wanted.

[ He looks around at his bedroom, the roaring fireplace, the rooms beyond made soft by candlelight. ]
Enter these chambers whensoever you wish, little flame.
[ A kiss on the lips to settle him, and he arches his back to slide free of Adar's body, waving an absent hand to clean them up so they can cuddle. ]

Thank you. [He relaxes, curling close to Sauron and nuzzling his neck softly. He truly did love him, despite the thousands of reasons and memories that said he should not. He wasn't even sure what he would have done if he had truly escaped. No one else would want him as much, no one else would understand.]

[ It's a tease, even as they settle down and the black blankets are drawn up, cosy in the darkness of the quietening fire. Sauron wraps him up in his arms and grows larger, more to his natural stature, so it's easier to gather Adar close and be everywhere for him. ]
